Salary: $43.26 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation

About the role:
Associate Professor Paul Ali and Professor Ian Ramsay are currently conducting a major study of Australian personal insolvency laws. They are seeking to employ a Research Assistant, with a background in historical research, to contribute to a study of Australian bankruptcy law in the nineteenth century. This study will focus on the laws of colonial Victoria and their social, economic and cultural context. The Research Assistant will conduct independent research and will assist with the preparation of a scholarly article. This position offers broad autonomy and a unique opportunity to conduct cutting edge legal-historical research.
You will have a relevant research background, being a completed or partially completed PhD in history, or scholarly publications in historical journals. You will have excellent research and writing skills, a demonstrated capacity to work independently, to meet deadlines and to contribute as an effective team member.
