Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences

Remuneration: from AUD98,775 to AUD187,654 p.a. + 17% superannuation (pension), depending on position and experience.

The Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne wishes to appoint up to twelve new academic positions within its School of Agriculture and Food. These appointments will expand the current research and teaching capacity of the School and will contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, particularly within the new Bachelor of Agriculture degree and established post-graduate degrees in Agriculture, Food Science, and Agribusiness.

The positions are available from Lecturer to Professor and will be either continuing (tenured) or fixed term (non-tenured) appointments with a minimum of a three-year term. 

We seek applicants with a strong research track record in any of the following areas:

• Agribusiness / Agricultural Economics
• Agricultural Waste Management
• Agro-micrometeorology/greenhouse gases
• Agronomy / Crop Science (Professor)
• Biostatistics and Research Methodology
• Biotechnology and Crop Nutrition
• Crop Plant Genome Editing
• Dairy Animal Nutrition/Physiology
• Dairy Science and Production
• Plant Molecular Biology/Biotechnology
• Plant Pathology / Biosecurity
• Precision Ag/Agro-ecosystem modelling
• Rural Innovation / Agricultural Extension
• Soil Biology and Health

Commensurate with academic career stage, applicants will have experience in teaching, research, and leadership as well as demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively and build successful teams by fostering academic excellence in others. For all these positions, we are seeking candidates with exceptional promise to develop externally funded internationally recognised research programs.
