The Melbourne School of Government is an externally focused School hosted by Melbourne Law School, in partnership with the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Arts. The School was established in 2013 to support, profile and extend the University’s teaching and learning, research and engagement capabilities in the fields of policy, public administration and governance, and embraces all those who work in or with government
About the role:
The Assistant Director will be required to assist the Director in delivering on the academic vision of the Melbourne School of Government, including development and delivery of new course offerings, research initiatives, executive education and outreach. This will require them to assist with strategically positioning the School in the external environment, forging strong links with key government departments at the national and local level, NGOs and the private sector in Australia and the broader Asian region.
The Assistant Director will operate with delegated authority and assume responsibilities as agreed with the Director in the areas of oversight of the academic programs, teaching into the School’s academic programs, contributing to a program of executive education activities.
The School is accepting applications from both established academics holding a PhD and those with substantial industry and government experience who may not have worked in academia previously.
