The appointee will join a multidisciplinary research team, with strong interactions with other research groups and institutions working within the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science (ACEx) http://www.excitonscience.com. The overall mission of the Centre is to examine and manipulate the way light energy is absorbed, transported and transformed in advanced molecular materials.

The appointee to this position will be responsible for the ultrafast microspectroscopy measurements of excitonic materials.  Key tasks of the appointee will include: the development of time-resolved microscopy techniques (in particular transient absorption microscopy) for studying materials that contribute to the milestones of the research themes within ACEx.

The appointee will also be expected to be involved in supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and take on a leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the Ultrafast and Microspectroscopy laboratory, assisting in overseeing the laboratory operation, including the maintenance and use of the instrumentation, and coordinating experiments of the laboratory’s researchers, students and visitors.
