Medley Hall is seeking residential college assistants to provide a strong positive role model as well as academic and personal support to students residing at Medley Hall and Cydelia House.  The Residential College Assistant is responsible, under the guidance of the Deputy Principal, for the safety and security of the college property and its students outside office hours, including weekends. The role also assists with check-in and support of casual guests during the semester breaks.

Residential College Assistants participate and contribute to in programs that support Medley Hall's academic, social, environmental and cultural sustainability objectives, and are warmly invited and encouraged to fully participate in the life of the College, including formal dinners, major College events and social functions.

The position is residential and regular availability for shifts rostered between the hours of 6pm and 9.00am Monday to Friday, and over a 24-hour spread on the weekends is essential.

To ensure the University provides a safe environment for children, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.

Medley Hall is a non-profit making hall of residence owned by the University of Melbourne.  Medley Hall aims to provide undergraduate students attending the University of Melbourne with an optimistic and creative community environment in which to live, one which provides support and encouragement to students. Medley Hall  goal is to combine academic excellence with ethical practice in a socially aware, environmentally conscious community.

Most of the resident students come from rural Victoria, interstate or overseas and from diverse family, political, cultural and religious backgrounds.

The Hall is managed by the Principal, with the assistance of the Deputy Principal, Business Manager and Administration Assistant, and after business hours by the Residential College Assistants.
