School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (CBE)
The CBE School integrates the expertise and capabilities of the Chemical and the Biomedical Engineering Departments. The resulting mix of skills builds new horizons for engineering and enables the realisation of transformative new ideas into practical innovation.

Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre (CRC)
The CRC reflects the vision of Australia’s gas and pipelines sector, focusing on the pivotal role that new fuels and the existing gas infrastructure will have to play in a low carbon economy. The University of Melbourne is a key partner in delivering the Research Programs of the CRC.
Working within the CRC, this position will play a key role delivering the outcomes of a project investigating deposits observed in piping carrying coal seam gas. The deposits are impacting operation and fouling equipment. In this role, you will lead a project to confirm the nature or the deposits and explore solutions to reduce their impact.
As a Research Engineer, you will deliver a solid research program to understand the nature of the deposits. You will develop research methods and standard operating procedures and conduct experiments with minimal experimental error.
You will be an active advocate for the research outcomes, communicating key findings and taking advantage of outreach opportunities including promotion of research through relevant media channels and advocacy groups.
In this position, you will supervise and mentor two Masters of Engineering Students who are assisting with this work through short term industry projects and will be required to take short term visits to coal seam gas facilities interstate.
