An experienced researcher (postdoctoral fellow) is required to develop structural biology and biochemical characterisation experiments in the Rouiller lab at the University of Melbourne.
This person will be implicated in the study of membrane proteins using cryo-EM combined with single particle and cryo-electron tomography/subtomography averaging. Efforts will be distributed at 50-50 between: 1) the characterisation of the conformations of HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein that are susceptible to attack by non-neutralizing antibodies and 2) the study of the mechanism of substrate translocation by anthrax toxins.
The research fellow should have extensive experience in protein biochemistry (including protein expression and purification using various systems) and in interpreting high-resolution structural data.
