This academic position in the School of Health Sciences provides Indigenous teaching and learning academic co-ordination and leadership across the health sciences disciplines of social work, physiotherapy, nursing, audiology, speech pathology and optometry. In partnership with the disciplines, the incumbent will oversee the implementation of the School's Indigenous Curriculum Framework, develop new initiatives in Indigenous curriculum development, co-ordinate staff development related to Indigenous health teaching and learning, and work with the Faculty Indigenous Development Team to support their Indigenous Health Sciences student recruitment strategy.
The incumbent will also teach into the School's flagship entry to practice programs equating to approximately 60 hours per year and co-ordinate Indigenous health teaching across the graduate programs within the School, support staff to undertake Indigenous health teaching and will provide teaching and learning direction and advice across course work programs. The Co-ordinator will strengthen existing and develop new external partnerships with community organisations, industry partners and other teaching institutions to enhance the Indigenous health curriculum, develop new graduate pathways for Indigenous students and establish new, innovative teaching approaches that meet accreditation standards for Indigenous health curriculum delivery. The incumbent will also collaborate with staff across the School and Faculty on teaching and learning-focused research and projects.
