The Australian Transport Research Cloud (ATRC) is a collaborative research infrastructure project led by the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN, www.aurin.org.au) that will develop a new, national computational capability for Australian transport researchers. The project will bring together transport datasets with state-of-the-art transport analytics and models into a single cloud engineered platform.
This position will work closely with the ATRC development team and project partners to design and implement user interfaces for data access, analytics, model configuration and visualisation for the platform. The appointee will have significant experience building applications for social interaction in problem solving and research domains, ideally using open source libraries and tools. Experience working with urban and or social science data and analytics is desired.
AURIN is an exciting initiative tasked with delivering research infrastructure to support urban, built environment and social science researchers across the Australia. The project has developed a core e-Infrastructure framework comprising over 5500 datasets and over 100 analytical and visualisation tools. AURIN supports researchers to access and analyse data in areas such as the built environment, transport, housing, health and energy/water, to help investigate the important challenges facing Australian cities, regions and communities today and into the future.
The successful candidate will be based in the AURIN facility within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning located on the Parkville Campus. The role will involve working closely with the wider AURIN team and ATRC partner researchers to deliver an outstanding user experience.
