About the role
The position works closely with University faculties, departments, secondary schools and the community to encourage and create pathways for Indigenous students to undergraduate, research and professional graduate courses at the University of Melbourne. The Indigenous Student Outreach Role is a key point of contact between Indigenous students, community, schools and The University. This is a rewarding role -- Outreach Officers connect students and families with the information and support they need to start studying at The University.
The position encompasses recruitment activities, marketing, strong customer service and adovocacy. Outreach Officers visit schools, deliver on-campus activities such as camps and tours and support the application and admissions processes for Indigenous students.
- The appointee must identify as an Australian Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander
- An undergraduate degree or the near completion of an undergraduate degree.
- A current driver’s licence is required for off-campus meetings and activities, as well as for travel to different areas in relation to the promotion of Indigenous Education and opportunities at the University.
