About the role:
As Research Fellow for the Data-Driven Research Hub, you will drive development of the Hub by engaging with researchers, clinicians, informaticians, analysts, consumers, subject matter experts and others across the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre alliance and more broadly in order to build upon large-scale linked data for research and develop capacity for its use.
As part of a small team based in the Cancer in Primary Care Research group, you will conduct research using linked data from across the continuum of cancer care, in addition to providing vital advocacy for others to utilise this novel resource.
The Hub was created in partnership between the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) to address recognised challenges associated with the availability of and access to data for research. The program is one of ten VCCC initiatives which seek to strengthen capabilities and enable improved cancer care/outcomes in priority areas such as regional disparities and poorer outcomes in vulnerable groups.
The next iteration of the Data Hub, recently funded for the next three years, will explore linkage of new types of data, in addition to pursuing novel methods for analysis and interpretation in collaboration with experts across the VCCC alliance.
The perfect candidate is passionate about data, has a proven ability to engage and communicate effectively and, most importantly, a desire to reduce the burden of cancer for all Victorians and beyond.
