Building Connections: Schools as Community Hubs is a three-year Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project investigating how best to plan, design, govern and manage schools to operate successfully as ‘more than a school’, encouraging the development of resilient and connected communities.
The Building Connections project sits under the research and administrative umbrella of the Learning Environments Applied Research Network (LEaRN), a multi-disciplinary forum supported by the founding faculties of Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP) – Melbourne School of Design (MSD) and Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE).
The Research Communications Coordinator – Building Connections & LEaRN will:
- support communications of the research activities and findings of the Building Connections project and the LEaRN group to broad audiences, and
- support the planning and delivery of workshops and events.
The role requires an organised, self-directed, creative individual with skills in communications, website development, and event management. An interest in communicating research related to learning environment design is desirable.
The position will be administratively based within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (ABP) and will report to the Associate Director of LEaRN, with day-to-day supervision from Building Connections Project Manager.
