Salary: $73,863 - $87,710 p.a. pro rata (plus clinical loading if applicable) plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%
This is an exciting opportunity to engage in career skills development with the Indigenous community in the North and West of Melbourne. This is a fixed-term position available for 2.5 years and hours are negotiable (full-time or part-time 0.4 - 0.8 FTE).
The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences successfully applied to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, (DEEWR) Diversity and Structural Adjustment fund with a grant application entitled ‘The Community Clinical School Model’. The Fund is intended to allow universities to change the way they prepare graduates to join the workforce. The ‘Crescent’ is the name given to the project, and includes the outer Northern and Western metropolitan region of Melbourne. The overarching goals of the Crescent project are to:
1. establish the Community Clinical Schools (CCS);
2. enhance the clinical education capacity and capability of health professionals;
3. reform the Faculty’s health professional curricula for community-based and community-orientated delivery; and
4. collaborate with Victoria and La Trobe Universities.
In this role, you will work to ensure that the Crescent project is relevant to and engaged with the Indigenous community in the North and West of Melbourne. This is a new position and an exciting new project, and there is scope for development and creativity.
You will report to the Project Leader, who is based at the Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit, Centre for Health and Society in the Melbourne School of Population Health. You will also develop close working links with the Medical Education Unit, and the Northern and Western Hospital Clinical Deans.
