About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your commitment to both tertiary teaching and research, and to be at the forefront of learning intervention in Australia. You will undertake a breadth of development tasks, relating to supporting students with learning and/or behavioural difficulties and disabilities in educational contexts. You will contribute to and lead key scholarly and research projects undertaken by the Learning Intervention Team nationally and internationally. You will be involved with subject development, including the development of online pedagogies, subject coordination and course coordination. You will also contribute to graduate research student supervision and training and liaise with colleagues in educational and developmental psychology, the science of learning, the Disability Research Collaboration, and other academic groups within the MGSE.

Responsibilities include to:

  • Support the development of subjects, online pedagogies and subject and course coordination
  • Teach into the Master of Learning Intervention and Master of Teaching courses
  • Contribute to scholarly research projects undertaken by the Learning Intervention Team nationally and internationally
  • Publish in quality journals 
  • Provide supervision for graduate research students
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in academic groups within the Melbourne Graduate School of Education

About You
You will demonstrate a high degree of productivity and independence under minimum supervision. As a keen problem-solver, your strong analytical thinking skills and solution-orientated approach will allow you to balance the demands of teaching, research, leadership, and community engagement. You will have teaching experience in a variety of educational settings and be familiar with and contribute to current developments and policy debates relating to supporting students with learning and/or behaviour difficulties and disabilities. You will have an active and impactful program of research activity, the proven ability to attract significant funding and a growing profile of research publications in quality journals. Your ability to influence and stimulate the student experience through innovative teaching and learning will set you up for success in this role. 

You will also have:

  • A doctoral degree in education, or in a related discipline, and an established track record of publications in inclusive education, learning and/or behaviour difficulties and/or disability
  • A growing profile of publications in inclusive education, learning and/or behaviour difficulties and/or disability
