About The Department of General Practice
The Department focuses on several cross-cutting research themes including clinical biostatistics, implementation science, clinical informatics, co-design, and health services research. Using clinical data analytics, we explore patient pathways and describe the epidemiology of health and disease in primary care. With a focus on primary care innovation, we develop, test and implement simple and complex interventions including digital technologies, such as a range of risk stratification and point-of-care decision making tools.

The Department of General Practice originated as a unit within the Department of Community Medicine in 1977. It was established as a separate department within the School of Medicine in 2001 and established the Primary Care Research Unit as a centre of excellence in primary care research, research training and knowledge exchange in 2006.

About the Role
The Department of General Practice is seeking to appoint a Collaboratives Coordinator responsible for the delivery of Quality Improvement Collaborative activities in general practices participating in the GooD4Mum program of research. GooD4Mum is an 18-month, general practice-based research project that seeks to reduce onset of type 2 diabetes among women with previous gestational diabetes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with the GooD4Mum research team in the development of materials and in relation to issues with delivery of the intervention.
  • Carry out administrative and management work associated with delivery of the collaboratives within the GooD4Mum intervention, including use of Microsoft Dynamics (Client Relationship Management system) integrated with Outlook.
  • Ensure the GooD4Mum collaborative handbook is updated prior to the GooD4Mum intervention commencing.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of all ethical and contractual commitments with the participating general practices.

About You
You will have organisational and time management skills to meet objectives within agreed timeframes and achieve quality results. You will be able to demonstrate understanding of using and interpreting data to guide improvement.

You will also have:

  • A relevant tertiary level qualification and/or equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience in quality management/service improvement relevant to the role.
  • A track record of delivering a quality improvement program across one or more roles at departmental and/or practice levels.
