About the Role
Are you a passionate and empathetic psychiatrist looking to make a positive impact on patient’s lives while embracing the future of mental health care in the younger demographic? Join our dynamic team as a tenant psychiatrist bringing expert mental health services to students at the University of Melbourne.

Our mental health team including psychiatrists, psychologists and a mental health nurse play a crucial role in providing top-notch mental health care to individuals seeking support for a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. You will receive referrals from our team of general practitioners to assess, and diagnose conditions, develop personalised treatment plans and offer ongoing support to improve patients’ mental well-being. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of accurate diagnoses and formulation of evidence-based treatment plans for patients with various mental health concerns.
  • Offering compassionate and non-judge mental support to patients promoting a safe and trusting therapeutic environment.
  • Monitoring and tracking patient’s progress adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

We're seeking experienced and compassionate psychiatrists who are experienced in diagnosing and treating diverse mental health conditions across all age groups. If you have excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice, we want to hear from you! You will also have:

  • AHPRA registered consultant psychiatrist
  • Membership with RANZCP
  • Active unrestricted medical license in Australia

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
