About the Role  

Step into a transformative journey with us as our newly created Academic Product Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and enhancement of online academic products and end-to-end curriculum design. Collaborating closely with faculties and academic leaders, you will design innovative online curricula and utilise learning analytics to monitor course performance and recommend improvements. 

Your expertise in end-to-end curriculum design, along with your guidance on online pedagogy and effective collaboration with facilities, will make a significant positive impact on online education for the University of Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Academic Product Lifecycle: Lead the end-to-end academic product lifecycle in partnership with the Growth & Partnerships team, the Operations team, strategic partners, and faculties. 
  • Online Curriculum Design Processes: Oversee the development and implementation of online curriculum design processes.  
  • Faculty Engagement: Embed a deep understanding of online pedagogy within the faculties. 
  • Leverage Learning Analytics: Utilise learning analytics to continuously monitor the performance of subjects and courses, extracting insights, and making recommendations for product enhancements based on data-driven assessments. 
  • Online Pedagogy Advice and Leadership: Provide expert guidance and leadership in online pedagogy, offering insights to enhance online learning experiences. 

Who we are looking for  

We are seeking seasoned academic product managers who have successfully managed complex projects, collaborated with diverse stakeholders, and implemented innovative solutions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of online education. If you are a visionary leader with a passion for transforming online learning and a commitment to excellence, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact at online education at the University of Melbourne. 

You will also have:  

  • 3-5 years of experience in end-to-end curriculum design, preferably in the education or EdTech industry  
  • Extensive experience in academic product management  
  • In-depth knowledge of online learning, demonstrated by a successful history of delivering courses and subjects based on faculty-led  pedagogy. 
  • Strong project management skills with extensive experience in managing the entire product lifecycle from design, implementation to delivery

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
