Salary: UOM 7 – $106,432 - $115,211 p.a. plus 17% super

As required by clause 1.15.9 of the 2024 EA, current casual or fixed-term employees of the University will be provided with 7 days of prior opportunity to apply for and be considered for vacant continuing positions if they meet the following criteria: 

  • they have been employed by the University over two or more semesters and over two consecutive calendar years, 
  • they have been employed on a 0.5 FTE or more time fraction, and

About the Role
The Project Manager at the Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics will manage the Centre’s agreements and activities with the State Government of Victoria and support key initiatives. Reporting to a senior leader, this role involves strategic project coordination, external engagement, and administrative services, collaborating with stakeholders to promote Centre activities and develop strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include implementing action plans, identifying new opportunities, managing grants, and ensuring compliance and impact measurement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide project management to the  Institute’s  key initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to foster communication, build relationships and progress each activity. 
  • Assist with identification of opportunities for co-funding and/or engagement activities to further development of activities.
  • Maintain financial, activity records and compliance reporting to partners and external parties, and contribute to the preparation and dissemination of reports to relevant parties.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will have strong problem-solving skills, high self-motivation, and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective stakeholder communication and project monitoring.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in Public Health or Biomedical Research, or relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including management of grants or contracts, financial and budget reporting.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail in relation to preparation of documentation, compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear project plans and timelines, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and monitor project progress.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
