About the Role
In this senior position within the Department of Physiotherapy, you will contribute to and enhance the academic teaching, research and leadership in the discipline of Physiotherapy within the Melbourne School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine Dentistry and Health Sciences at The University of Melbourne.

The Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) Course Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the academic and administrative aspects of the DPT program and ensuring the program's curriculum aligns with accreditation standards. You will have a commitment to education excellence and lead the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the DPT curriculum to ensure continuous and innovative improvements of the program and an outstanding student experience. You will directly engage in academic education including developing and evaluating education material and resources, providing lectures and tutorials and coordination of specific subjects within the DPT.  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing effective coordination for the Doctor of Physiotherapy program to ensure the ongoing delivery of high-quality engaging education and training
  • Applying contemporary and innovative pedagogical knowledge and insights to teaching practices 
  • Sustaining, supporting, and contributing to a culture of active education and/or clinical research
  • Guiding and monitoring students on appropriate professional codes of conduct, standards and behaviours as the Fitness to Practice Offers for the DPT program

Who We Are Looking For
You will have a strong track record of academic engagement, including course coordination, student assessment, and curriculum development. You will have demonstrated significant contributions to curriculum innovation and evaluation, alongside research activity evidenced by securing research funding, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at conferences.

You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive and cohesive teams, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. A high level of productivity, initiative, problem-solving, and organisational skills is expected in this role. 

You will also have:

  • Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • PhD or equivalent, or higher academic qualification (in health professional education)

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
