Casual Subject Developer (multiple positions)

About the Role
The Faculty of Education (FoE) is seeking one/or multiple (pending availability) casual academic colleagues to support subject development for several subjects in a new Master of Education program launching in early 2025.

Casual subject developers will be working with other faculty colleagues to coordinate content & design, identifying appropriate readings and online materials, facilitate the creation of content videos, write module text, populate LMS sites, develop relationships and logistics for possible site visits, and/or other duties involved in completing subject development for delivery in 2025.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing content for the subjects, such as module descriptions, assignments, readings, and other asynchronous learning materials
  • Populating the subjects’ LMS sites
  • Arranging site visits for some subjects for 2025
  • Attend meetings and briefings as required
  • Liaise with supervisor(s) and subject coordinators

Who We Are Looking For
You are an experienced educator with a track record of developing engaging content for tertiary award courses. You have experience with and subject matter related to the course including critical policy studies, social movement theory, social transformations and education, education policy, and/or Indigenous education, including ideally, Learning on Country pedagogical approaches.

You will also have:

  • A PhD qualification in Education or a relevant discipline
  • Relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge about sustainability and/or learning on Country experience

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
