About the Role
As the MD Course Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the coordination, curriculum delivery, and planning of the four-year Doctor of Medicine programme.

In collaboration with the Head of the Department of Medical Education, you will lead the continuous refinement of the curriculum structure and content, ensuring it aligns with advances in disciplinary knowledge, educational practices, and contemporary expectations for medical education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading curriculum coordination, delivery, and planning in line with the University's Framework for Educational Excellence.
  • Implementing complex course variations and chairing the Board of Examiners to ensure quality assessment and alignment with MD learning outcomes.
  • Engaging with clinical schools, departments, and professional staff to operationalise the MD programme effectively.
  • Providing leadership in managing student-related issues, supporting subject coordinators, and addressing academic progress or professional behaviour concerns.

Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a health professional degree registerable in Australia, along with an educational qualification or demonstrable progress towards attaining one.

Your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships across a broad research and teaching network are essential.

You have significant experience in medical and/or healthcare professional education curriculum delivery and coordination of innovative research curricula.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching entry-to-practice healthcare professional students.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
