About the Role
As an Education Fellow in Construction, you will leverage your industry experience to support student learning in construction management and technology subjects, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate levels within the Bachelor of Design (construction pathway) and Master of Construction Management degrees. This part-time role allows for continued industry engagement while you develop your teaching expertise, working with senior academic staff and independently. You will be responsible for delivering engaging teaching, improving student outcomes, and contributing to curriculum development, while also engaging in professional development to enhance teaching practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the delivery of core and elective teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate construction programs, including tutorials and site visits , and supporting curriculum and resource development.
- Directly involving in student assessment, providing feedback, and offering empathetic support and guidance to students, while engaging in professional development activities.
- Contributing to scholarly presentations and publications, supporting grant applications to advance teaching, and continuously improving teaching practices based on impact measures.
- Engaging in team collaboration, participating in committees, and supporting University initiatives to enhance teaching quality, while adhering to University policies and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace.
Who we are looking for
You will be a self-motivated individual with excellent planning and organisational skills, capable of working autonomously to meet deadlines. You will also possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to upholding the University’s standards of behaviour and contributing to a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
You will also have:
- A PhD or Masters degree in a built environment discipline.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the construction industry, within commercial and/or domestic sectors.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in construction, with the ability to educate, inspire, and support students as part of a team.
- Expertise in construction methodology, building materials, procurement routes, and relevant regulations, particularly in commercial construction.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
