Teaching and Academic Resource Officer

Salary:UOM 6 – $96,459 - $104,413 p.a. plus 17% super 

  • Coordinate and provide support for the Department’s engagement activities and events, such as research seminar series and conferences. 
  • In collaboration with other team members, coordinate and administer all special and alternative exam timetabling requirements by liaising with academic staff in the Department, FBE ASO and Central Examinations and being able to make decisions in a timely manner to resolve issues. 
  • Coordinate resource allocation, including equipment and physical working space, for academics, visitors, executives-in-residence and PhD students. 

About the Role 
This multifaceted position will see you collaborate closely with academic and professional staff to ensure the smooth planning, delivery, and review of vital administrative processes, from academic and students support to event coordination and exam logistics. With a focus on excellence and innovation, you’ll provide invaluable support across academic services, resource management, and engagement activities. As a trusted partner to our academic community, you’ll help shape an environment where teaching and research flourish, ensuring the department’s activities run like clockwork.  

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing Academic and Administrative Support: Managing resource allocation and ensuring efficient use of equipment, workspace, and administrative processes. 
  • Coordinating Event and Engagement Activities: Liaising between academic and professional staff. Handling communications, booking venues, and overseeing logistics to ensure successful event execution.  
  • Managing Examinations and Timetabling: Coordinating special and AEA exam timetabling and resolving student-related issues. Ensuring timely processing and uploading of special exam results. 
  • Overseeing Operational and Relationship Management: Maintaining departmental registers and managing security access. Providing administrative support to staff on subject-related processes, driving continuous service improvement.

You also have: 

  • A degree in a relevant field, complemented by pertinent professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Proven proficiency in computer applications, including advanced skills in using standard software such as the Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, with a proven capacity to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, perform effectively under pressure, and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges and develop proactive solutions to drive improvements in operational processes.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
