  • Manage the administration and quality assurance of the General Practice components of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, liaising with Melbourne Medical School staff to ensure effective delivery.
  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing medical education by leading teaching and learning projects, developing strategies, and managing a team dedicated to the administration of General Practice placements across the innovative MD program.

About the Role
Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team involved in the administration of General Practice placements for the MD program.

A core aspect involves building and maintaining relationships with the Victorian Research and Education Network (VicREN), coordinating recruitment strategies to engage general practices for student placements and research activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the Teaching and Learning team to deliver efficient administration of student placements in General Practices.
  • Provide leadership to the Teaching and Learning team, ensuring staff development and maximising effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes, curriculum materials, and training programs for GP supervisors and practice managers.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with academic, clinical, and professional staff, as well as General Practitioners throughout Victoria.

Who We Are Looking For
You will have a degree-level qualification with at least 4 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.

Your strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads in a high-pressure environment are essential.

You possess excellent communication abilities, including report and correspondence writing, and can develop positive relationships with diverse clients.

Your leadership skills enable you to build, motivate, and manage a team with a strong client focus.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, systems, policies, and processes for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to resolve escalated issues and grievances, minimising the University's exposure to risk.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
