  • Contribute to the curriculum development, co-ordination and implementation of First Nations health teaching across the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, focusing on First Nations concepts of health and wellbeing to ensure culturally safe medical student practice.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the First Nations health curriculum within Australia's leading medical program, fostering a values-based culture of innovation, creativity, collaboration, compassion, respect, integrity, and accountability.

About the Role
As a key member of the Wurru Wurru Health Unit (WWHU) team, you will undertake focused curriculum mapping, design, and co-ordination of the First Nations health theme in the clinical years (years 2 and 4) of the MD course, working closely with the metropolitan and rural clinical schools.

You will lead curriculum co-ordination and implementation, provide support for First Nations health tutors/lecturers, and collaborate with year level leads, clinical school leads, and curriculum developers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead curriculum co-ordination and implementation of the First Nations health theme in MD years 2 and 4.
  • Ensure the Canvas learning management system is up-to-date with relevant curriculum for the relevant year level.
  • Work directly with Clinical School Deans to ensure consistent implementation of the First Nations health curriculum across various sites.

Who We Are Looking For
You will be a registered health professional (AHPRA or equivalent) with education experience or currently training in health or education.

You have an understanding of First Nations health principles, experience with curriculum design and development or First Nations health more generally, and the ability to collaborate across a broad range of scientific and humanities education disciplines.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engage positively in flexible working environments and with innovation.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
