About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Research/Enterprise Fellow to join Onemda, within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and work across the Melbourne School of Health Science. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Onemda, as well as academic researchers, clinicians, and health leaders to provide vital support including assisting in the development of grant applications across a range of impactful projects.
As a key member of the team, you will play an essential role in facilitating collaboration and communication across research and project initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and engage with leading academics in a range of health fields, including Professor Marcia Langton AO (Indigenous Studies Unit), Prof Catch Chamberlain (Indigenous Health Equity) and A/Prof Mitchell Anjou AM (Indigenous Eye Health) and leading academics in the Melbourne School of Health Science.
This is a joint position between the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health and the Melbourne School of Health Sciences, offering the potential for interstate travel to support key initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Initiating and supporting grant applications and other proposals for funding to advance the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led research program
- Participating in community and professional activities related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research
- Disseminating research findings through appropriate methods, including presentations at conferences and other public forums.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate must be familiar with the research grant processes, and experienced in the writing of research grants. They will have experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander public health/health research and will be able to establish and maintain industry partnerships and collaborations, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, government, and non-government sectors. The candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively with a range of people, and also independently as required to ensure the successful implementation of activities and achievement of project goals within agreed deadlines.
You will also have:
- A combination of education and relevant experience in a field such as public health, health systems, health service delivery, health promotion, or health-related discipline
- Experience and/or demonstrated understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- An ethical mindset, and strong diversity values coupled with an ability to work with various intersections and individual differences

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
