About the Role
The Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Engineering and Computing Education) will play a key role in advancing curriculum development, teaching practices, and student engagement within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. Working within the Teaching and Learning Laboratory, the role supports evidence-based initiatives to enhance teaching capability and learning outcomes, aligning with the Faculty’s strategic goals. At higher levels, the appointee will lead and coordinate key education-focused initiatives to drive innovation in engineering and computing education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide evidence-based teaching and learning support within the Faculty, particularly relating to educational design and implementation.
  • Contribute to innovative subject and curriculum design and implementation.
  • Deliver learning and teaching projects and/or initiatives on targeted topics and translate outcomes to selected subjects or programs under supervision.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, supporting staff in subject design and curriculum development while implementing innovative teaching initiatives. They will effectively engage with staff from diverse backgrounds, contribute to engineering education, and work efficiently within a team to manage projects and enhance learning experiences.

You will also have:

  • A degree in engineering or computing or a cognate discipline.
  • A strong record of effective tutoring and marking in engineering or computing.
  • Demonstrated capacity to support staff with design of subjects and curricula, implementing innovative teaching initiatives, and implementing technology enhanced learning.
  • An understanding of contemporary issues in teaching and learning in engineering education.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
