Your next career opportunity
As the Centre Coordinator for Pathogen Genomics, you'll play a pivotal role in managing cutting-edge programs at the University of Melbourne's Peter Doherty Institute. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate cross-sectoral stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and support world-leading experts in pathogen genomics. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on infectious disease research and surveillance across the Asia-Pacific region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management and Coordination: Oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure progress towards strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication and collaboration with diverse partners locally and internationally.
  • Communications and Outreach: Implement the Centre's communications and engagement plan, manage digital platforms, and develop content to showcase research impact.
  • Project Support: Perform secretariat responsibilities, assist with reporting, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a highly organised and effective communicator with experience in managing complex projects and engaging diverse stakeholders across academic, research, and public health sectors.

You may also:

  • Have strong project management skills and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in developing and implementing strategic plans and workplans.
  • Have experience in website and social media management, including content development.
  • Be adaptable and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
