About the Role
This role, co-funded by the University of Melbourne, is part of a collaborative effort with the MyBRISK Centre of Research Excellence and Genomics Technologies Limited. It seeks a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in health services research, implementation science, or epidemiology, focusing on cancer and genomics. As a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow, you'll contribute to primary care, cancer genomics, and population health research while collaborating with diverse teams across these institutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expertise and leadership to help achieve implementation trials of multi-cancer polygenic risk scores in primary care.
  • Play a major role in developing and implementing a multi-cancer risk-assessment approach to clinical risk stratification for breast, colorectal, prostate and melanoma screening in the general population, liaising with our industry partner to establish routes to commercial implementation.
  • Produce high quality research outputs with a focus on clinical utility of genomic-based risk assessment in general practice and elsewhere.

Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a research team to achieve project goals, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively. You will bring a demonstrated ability to work independently and lead research teams.

You will also have:

  • You have a PhD or other post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., medicine, psychology, genetic counselling, nursing, epidemiology) or public health, with research experience in a relevant field.
  • Quantitative and qualitative research experience including conducting studies in clinical settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate research through presentations in public forums including conferences.
