About the Roles (2 Positions Available)
Research in the Faculty of Arts examines how we operate as humans: from how we speak and how we think, to how we work and play, and even how we die. Our researchers investigate the big questions we face as humans: how do we tackle challenges like climate change, poverty, racism, disability discrimination, and war? Arts research deepens our understanding of ourselves, our past and present, to help create impactful changes for the future.

As one of our Research Development Officers, you will play a part in creating these changes. You will be responsible for enabling the operations of the Faculty’s Research Office, by providing flexible support to a wide range of activities. The roles have a key focus on supporting the Faculty’s portfolio of collective research initiatives to achieve research excellence and impact. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior staff in advancing high-impact, innovative research initiatives, such as the Initiative for Peacebuilding and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures. You will receive strong professional development support, and develop a broad knowledge of the Faculty’s Research portfolio.

Your New Team – Faculty of Arts Research Office
The Research Office enables the Faculty of Arts’ strategic aim of achieving research excellence and impact. Led by the Faculty Research Manager and comprising approximately 15 staff, the team provides effective operational support and manages key research development projects. The team has capabilities spanning the full range of research development, with particular strengths in research funding, impact, collaboration, and evaluation. Reporting to the Research Development Manager, you will work closely with colleagues in the Research portfolio, research initiative leads, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
