Contribute to a ground-breaking NHMRC-funded programme aimed at improving the detection and treatment of ADHD in Australia. Working within the Developmental Mental Health Team in the Department of Paediatrics, you will play a pivotal role in study coordination, participant recruitment, and the administration of clinical research assessments across multiple sites. You will support the research team in maintaining study databases, preparing ethics applications, and critically evaluating study processes to enhance research outcomes. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment, with opportunities for professional growth and contribution to high-impact research in child and adolescent mental health.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating research activities by leading participant recruitment, ensuring adherence to ethical protocols, and administering standardised clinical assessments.
- Managing research data through accurate and timely entry, maintaining research databases, and contributing to governance and ethics submissions.
- Engaging with stakeholders by building and maintaining professional relationships with study participants, clinicians, and research collaborators.
- Contributing to research outputs by assisting with publications, presenting progress reports, and participating in team meetings and academic discussions.

You are a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in developmental mental health and ADHD research. With strong interpersonal skills, you effortlessly build rapport with study participants and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and navigate research ethics requirements is essential to the role. Adaptable and resourceful, you demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, thriving in a dynamic research environment.
You may also:
- Hold a postgraduate qualification (Honours, Master’s, or doctoral degree) in behavioural or social sciences, psychology, or a related field.
- Have experience conducting research with children and young people, including data collection, ethics management, and engagement with research governance.
- Possess strong skills in participant recruitment, clinical research assessments, and database management.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently across multiple research sites.

The Department of Paediatrics serves as the flagship representative of the University's collaboration with the Royal Children's Hospital, sharing a location on Flemington Road in Parkville. This department, situated within the School of Medicine, holds a significant role in overseeing the Child & Adolescent Health component of the Doctor of Medicine program.
