About Quantum Australia:

Quantum Australia collaborates with key leaders across industry, academia, and government to advance the nation's quantum capabilities. Fostering the journey from quantum curious to quantum advocates, aiming to drive transformative change in the adoption of quantum technologies, positioning Australia at the forefront of the global quantum landscape. Backed by substantial government and university funding, and led by the University of Sydney, this initiative is forging a dynamic ecosystem, accelerating research breakthroughs, and fueling quantum entrepreneurship. Quantum Australia has state and territory-based Nodes in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA and the ACT.

About the Role
As the Ecosystem Development Coordinator for the Quantum Australia Victorian Node, you will drive engagement and events to grow Victoria’s quantum ecosystem. Working across four partner institutions, you will coordinate an annual events program, manage logistics for networking and outreach activities, and support relationship-building with SMEs, start-ups, and established quantum organisations. Additionally, you will assist in securing sponsorships and investment for the Quantum Australia national conference.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving engagement – Plan events and outreach to grow Victoria’s quantum ecosystem.
  • Building connections – Develop networks across industry, government, and research.
  • Boosting visibility – Promote quantum activity through media, marketing, and partnerships.
  • Supporting collaborations – Assist in securing industry and research partnerships.

Who we are looking for
You will be a well-organised and proactive professional with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. With strong relationship management abilities, particularly with senior stakeholders, you will excel at working independently and collaboratively, effectively prioritising tasks to meet deadlines in a complex environment.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Exceptional event management, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate complex events, manage competing deadlines, and oversee projects from inception to delivery, including financial resource management.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
