Your next career opportunity
As a Test Automation Engineer, you'll spearhead automation testing and quality assurance for the University of Melbourne's Digital Products portfolio and Business Services IT. You'll have the opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge automation frameworks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive best practices in a CI/CD environment. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of the university's digital services, offering you a chance to grow professionally in a dynamic academic setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Maintain Automation Frameworks: Create, improve, and govern testing assets and methodologies for web applications and back-end functionality.
  • Implement CI/CD Best Practices: Define and execute strategies for unit, integration, and UI automation testing in a CI/CD pipeline, focusing on high-value, risk-based testing.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer recommendations and advice on automation testing processes, practices, and activities to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with projects and operational teams to ensure effective development and handover of test automation assets.

You may be a great fit if:

  • You are an experienced test automation professional with a strong background in developing and maintaining automation frameworks, possessing excellent coding skills and a passion for driving quality in digital products.

You may also:

  • Have undergraduate qualifications in IT, Business, or a relevant discipline.
  • Possess extensive experience in automation test coverage for new and existing applications.
  • Be proficient in Selenium with Python and C#, as well as the MS technology stack.
  • Have strong knowledge of API testing, version control systems, and CI/CD platforms.
  • Demonstrate experience with test configuration and data management for system integration testing.
  • Be familiar with Agile methodologies and have experience in a university environment.
