Level A – $80,258 - $108,906 p.a. (pro-rata for part time) plus 17% super

About the Role
We're seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute their expertise in trauma, postnatal mental health, and PTSD to our dynamic team. Situated within the esteemed Traumatic Stress Clinic and Interventions Research Stream, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing intervention studies and advancing perinatal mental health research. From assisting in participant recruitment to data collection and analysis, you'll be at the forefront of groundbreaking research that directly impacts clinical practice. With opportunities to work across multiple projects and collaborate with leading experts in the field, this role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful difference in posttraumatic mental health care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Respond to phone and online queries, explain research studies to potential participants, and screen participants for study eligibility.
  • Recruit participants for the Momentum Traumatic Birth Study including at recruitment sites at the Mercy Hospital, Frances Perry House, and/or the Phoenix Australia Traumatic Stress Clinic.
  • Recruit and schedule participants/book appointments in intervention studies within the Phoenix Australia Traumatic Stress Clinic.

Who We Are Looking For
You're skilled in organisation, meeting deadlines, and prioritisation. Proficient in various computing tasks, you adapt easily to new technologies. Thriving in both independent and collaborative settings, you embrace flexibility in multidisciplinary teams.

You will also have:

  • Undergraduate degree with first class Honours in psychology or related mental health field or working towards completion of Honors degree in psychology or related mental heath field.
  • Experience in liaising with clients with mental health difficulties, including handling confidential information, and knowing when to escalate appropriately.
  • Prior administrative or research experience within a health, mental health, or clinical research environment.
  • Experience in recruiting study participants in a health, mental health, or clinical research environment and/or experience in longitudinal and intervention studies.
