About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Initiatives team within the CFO Group and contribute to the University's strategic initiatives. You will play a key role in various capital infrastructure projects, working closely with the team rolling out the University’s Estate Master Plan, and support innovative and transformative projects in delivering the University’s strategy. You’ll lead and contribute to the delivery of business and financial objectives through your expertise in financial modelling and analytical skills, proactive involvement and ensure an efficient and professional information flow.

In this role, you will actively contribute to the University's strategy, leveraging financial strengths and addressing challenges or identifying risks. Working closely with other teams, you'll be exposed to a diverse range of strategic projects, including supporting start-up and building/implementing other business cases.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Assess the financial feasibility of strategic projects, considering ROI, NPV, and other relevant financial metrics
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and scenario analysis to support capital and strategic project planning
  • Identify and assess financial risks and plan to mitigate risks
  • Provide accurate and timely financial budgets and forecasts for capital and strategic projects

Who we are looking for
We're seeking people who showcase strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Attention to detail is paramount, as this skill will be crucial to provide accurate financial implications.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in developing and maintaining complex financial models including scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insight
  • Demonstrated capacity to think and plan strategically and to provide business planning, analytics, reporting and advice in a large complex organisation
  • Demonstrated capacity for flexibility, agility and innovation, while maintaining commitment to achieving outcomes
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a high-level of expertise in Excel

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
