About the role:
Step into a high-impact role where you’ll lead a team responsible for managing the University’s nine campuses, encompassing heritage buildings, cutting-edge arts facilities and biomedical research laboratories. As Director of Campus Operations and Delivery, you will lead a large team responsible for delivery of facilities management, security and construction projects across the University. This dynamic leadership role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure assets, services and projects align with the University’s operational needs.
The Director champions a high-performing and service-oriented team culture. This role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective facilities services, including many delivered by external suppliers. This role also oversees property project construction and partners with Estate Planning to inform capital investment and deliver the University's property capital plan.

Your BAU:
- Deliver facilities services to agreed standards and timeframes for all University campuses
- Develop and manage operational plans and budgets for Campus Operations and Delivery, including continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to broader Business Services planning.
- Oversee the University's construction project portfolio, from minor works to major projects
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders to ensure service provision meets current and future organisational needs.
- Drive digital capability and technology adoption within Campus Operations and Delivery to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Manage a large team of people, fostering an inclusive and contemporary approach to leadership.
Your profile:
You are a service-focused leader who uses their exceptional communication skills to navigate a large, complex organisation. You are passionate about leveraging new technologies and building a digitally capable team.
Essential Criteria:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in engineering, property or project management, or a combination of relevant training, education, and experience.
- Experience leading asset and infrastructure teams for a complex property portfolio (ranging from heritage buildings to state-of-the-art research facilities)
- Substantial people management and leadership experience in a large, complex organisation with a focus on fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability, as well as a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Excellent commercial acumen, with experience negotiating contracts valued over $50M and managing vendor performance
- Demonstrated experience delivering an integrated suite of campus services and operations, particularly for a large, complex organisation operating on multiple sites
- Experience leading or overseeing a significant portfolio of property-related projects and programs, with a strong understanding of financial management including budget development and financial forecasting.

Business Services provides a full range of class leading information technology, facilities management, finance, HR and health and safety services to all operating entities of the University.
The Campus Operations and Delivery team manages the University’s assets and infrastructure across all campuses and provides facilities services to all operating entities of the University. This encompasses maintenance, engineering and infrastructure, asset performance, utilities management, physical security, transport and parking. The team also delivers the University’s construction projects, ranging from precinct re-development to specialist facility fit outs.
