About the Role
As our Management Accountant, you will be the financial backbone of our Finance Business Partnering model. Your sharp analytical skills and unwavering attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining financial integrity and providing invaluable insights to our Finance Business Partners. You will be the driving force behind efficient resource allocation and informed decision-making, ensuring the University's financial health and success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure financial data accuracy, maintain chart of accounts, process corrections, prepare journals, and collaborate with stakeholders for compliance and process improvement.
- Support financial performance monitoring, budget development, and forecasting, collaborating with Finance Business Partners and other shared services.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and identify trends.
- Assist with the Finance Business Partnering team through the ERP system implementation period by collating finance system related queries, following up with the relevant project teams and assisting in reconciliation of data across the systems.
Who we are looking for
We seek a COO-aligned professional with exceptional service delivery, strong collaboration skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced environments, possess advanced Excel expertise, and excel in time management and communication. Proven experience in continuous improvement and a background in higher education are preferred.
You will also have:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or progression towards either of these qualifications; or
- Graduate qualifications in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of tertiary qualifications and relevant experience.
- Knowledge of large financial planning tools such as Oracle, Hyperion and experience in business intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy are also highly desirable.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
