About the Role
As the Systems Analyst, you'll focus on enhancing the student experience and improving business efficiency through the implementation and support of experiential learning systems, particularly Sonia, within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Reporting to the Manager of Experiential Learning, you'll ensure smooth system operation by understanding its capabilities, mapping requirements, proposing solutions, and demonstrating strong leadership in project management. Serving as the primary contact for system issues, you'll troubleshoot, support system upgrades, and collaborate with internal owners and vendors, contributing to the strategic development of experiential learning initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading initiatives to enhance administrative processes within the Faculty relating to experiential learning.
  • Providing first-level support to users of experiential learning systems across the Faculty, including assistance with new configurations and the development of off-platform workarounds where appropriate.
  • Interacting with internal system owners and/or vendors regarding complex or unresolved technical issues requiring escalation.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate excels in utilising Microsoft Excel for intricate data manipulation tasks and demonstrates the capacity to swiftly grasp complex business processes and needs. They exhibit strong attention to detail in coordinating system testing processes and possess creative problem-solving skills within policy and technical constraints. Additionally, they possess excellent communication abilities to influence stakeholders effectively and prioritise tasks according to project management methodologies. Experience with the Sonia placement administration platform and familiarity with university policies related to work-integrated learning are desirable.

You will also have:

  • Experience supporting users of IT systems comprising large API integrated databases with complex dataflows.
  • Understanding of project management methodology, with proven ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
  • Ability to think creatively to identify solutions within strict policy and technical frameworks
  • Ability to rapidly develop a comprehensive understanding of complex business processes and core business needs.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
