About the Role
Are you passionate about crafting compelling written content and enhancing user experience? An exciting opportunity awaits you in our Graduate Research team as a Web Copywriter. You'll collaborate across the University under the guidance of our Manager of Graduate Research and supported by the Student Information Web Coordinator. In this role, you'll engage with a variety of web and communication projects, focusing on refining content for our graduate research community. From planning and analysis to customer research, you'll play a vital role in shaping our online presence. Your outstanding communication skills will ensure our content is remains accurate and resonates with our audiences. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with stakeholders (including academic and professional staff, and subject matter experts) to understand and document requirements. 
  • Rewriting and optimising existing web content, and writing new and engaging web content, prioritizing customer experience (CX) .  
  • Creating content to suit new web layouts and information architectures. 

Who we are looking for
We're in search of a dynamic copywriter who brings a creative edge and problem-solving prowess to the table. If you excel at implementing innovative solutions and possess excellent communication skills, engaging with diverse stakeholders comes naturally to you. Your keen eye for detail ensures that every word aligns seamlessly with tone and style requirements. With extensive experience in crafting customer-focused web copy, you're well-versed in SEO, web writing best practices, and accessibility compliance.

You will also have:

  • Degree level qualification with subsequent relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Understanding of how to use HTML to prepare content for the web.
  • Understanding of CX and Customer Journey Mapping.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

Your new team –  Student and Scholarly Services - Graduate Research 
The Graduate Research team supports the graduate research community including graduate researchers, academic and professional staff across the University.  The team provides this support by  providing advice ; processes high-risk candidature variations; issuing regular reports; offering business process training; coordinating staff and student-facing information; coordinating the examination of all graduate research theses; and providing executive support for unsatisfactory progress. The team also provides specific support to joint PhD candidates and their supervisors and for the development and maintenance of International Research Training Groups (IRTGs).
