About the Role
Join the vibrant community at VCA as an Associate Lecturer in Visual Arts, where you will inspire and mentor emerging artists who are passionate about a lifelong commitment to their craft. Your expertise will help shape the next generation of artists, empowering them to become positive contributors to both the profession and the broader community.

As an active and respected artist, you will bring your creative vision and teaching skills to a dynamic, collaborative environment. Working closely with small teams, you will play a key role in developing and enriching the teaching and learning experience at VCA Art, including breadth and other programs.

You will actively contribute to our learning culture, helping to design and deliver innovative courses while maintaining a high standard of teaching excellence. Your involvement will support VCA and the Faculty in advancing our shared vision, ensuring we continue to grow and excel in shaping the future of the arts. 

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking candidates that demonstrate:

  • A Master’s degree and/or equivalent active longitudinal professional practice in contemporary art with expertise in printmaking and screen printing.
  • Appropriate teaching experience, coordination and management experience in an Art School context.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to the importance of teaching at all levels in higher education and to innovation in curriculum design and teaching methods, together with a distinguished personal contribution to teaching.
  • Scholarship and research of national standing in a particular field of knowledge, with a demonstrated breadth of interests and sympathy for other arts disciplines represented in the VCA and Faculty.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in fostering excellence in teaching.
  • Evidence of capacity to successfully develop and implement strategies/initiatives in support of discipline priorities and targets, particularly in relation to undergraduate and graduate recruitment and engagement.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
