Your next career opportunity
As a Lecturer in Biostatistics within the renowned Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) at the University of Melbourne's Department of Paediatrics, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing child health research. You'll provide academic leadership in biostatistics, contribute to high-impact research, and shape the next generation of biostatisticians and health researchers. This position offers you the chance to collaborate on national and international studies, lead methodological research, and influence strategic directions in paediatric health research.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Educational Programs: Coordinate and teach CEBU's short courses in research methods, focusing on graduate and MD students.
  • Provide Statistical Expertise: Offer consultations and manage support for clinical and epidemiological observational studies across the Melbourne Children's campus.
  • Drive Research Innovation: Develop collaborations in observational studies and lead methodological research projects in causal inference and other relevant areas.
  • Mentor and Supervise: Manage a team of CEBU statisticians and co-supervise higher-degree students.
  • Shape Strategic Direction: Assist in setting and implementing strategic plans for CEBU and the Department of Paediatrics.

You may be a great fit if:
You hold a PhD in Biostatistics or Statistics and have extensive experience in providing statistical guidance for health research studies, with expertise in modern statistical methods for observational longitudinal studies, particularly causal inference.

You may also:

  • Have a strong track record in teaching research methods to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrate expertise in developing causal inference methods for observational studies.
  • Possess a proven research record, including methodological publications and grant success.
  • Show high-level communication and management skills.
  • Have experience supervising research staff and providing expert advice.
  • Be proficient in R or Stata computing packages.
