As Project Manager for an innovative international clinical trial at the Doherty Institute, you'll lead the charge in identifying optimal treatments for invasive group A streptococcal disease. You'll oversee all aspects of this multicentre, adaptive platform randomised trial, from ethics submissions to operational management. This role offers you the chance to work with leading researchers, shape future treatment protocols, and gain invaluable experience in clinical trial management within a world-class research environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Trial Documentation and Processes: Prepare and maintain study protocols, case report forms, and operational documents while overseeing site identification and recruitment.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Handle ethics submissions, trial registration, and liaise with the University's Office of Research Ethics and Integrity regarding sponsorship and contracts.
- Coordinate Trial Operations: Oversee data management, support trial nurses across multiple sites, and manage site-specific payments and budgets.
- Maintain Quality and Safety Standards: Conduct data quality monitoring, site audits, and coordinate safety monitoring, including adverse event reporting and management.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a skilled project manager with experience in clinical trials, possessing strong organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a dynamic research environment.
You may also:
- Have experience in managing multicentre clinical trials.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethics processes for clinical research.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Be proficient in data management and quality control processes.

The Department of Infectious Diseases is a recently established department of the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences that is based at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). Research within the department encompasses infectious diseases including antimicrobial resistance and healthcare associated infections, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis, influenza, viral hepatitis, sexually-transmitted infections, skin pathogens and emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Our researchers come from diverse backgrounds, including discovery research and basic scientists, clinician researchers, epidemiologists, public health physicians and microbiologists.
