As a Senior Project Officer at the Mallee Regional Innovation Centre, you'll play a crucial role in delivering projects that enhance drought resilience and horticulture innovation. You'll have the opportunity to engage with diverse stakeholders, from farmers to researchers, and contribute to impactful initiatives. Your work will directly support the adoption of innovative practices, improving drought preparedness and resilience in farming communities across the region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Project Coordination: Implement and monitor project plans, contribute to milestone reporting, and support the success of various initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Organise industry workshops, field days, and knowledge-sharing events, building strong networks with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic Support: Execute operational tasks, ensure adherence to policies, and contribute to data analysis and reporting for key project metrics.
- Event Management: Provide practical and technical support for on-ground activities, including field days, workshops, and trade stands.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a proactive and versatile professional with a degree in agricultural sciences or a related field, possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders in rural communities.
You may also:
- Have a strong foundation in agricultural sciences with experience in supporting research and development.
- Possess high-level oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Have experience in project support and stakeholder engagement, preferably in agriculture or regional development.
- Be familiar with drought management, horticulture, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Hold a current driver's license and be willing to travel regionally.
