Your next career opportunity
As Communication Manager (Science), you'll spearhead strategic communications projects for the Faculty of Science, driving awareness and advocacy both internally and externally. You'll have the opportunity to develop and deliver compelling content across various channels, manage stakeholder relationships, and lead reputation-building initiatives. Your role will be crucial in managing and executing communication projects that maximise opportunities benefiting the broader University while working closely with senior leaders. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute communication projects: Plan, manage, and deliver proactive media, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities to enhance the Faculty's profile. 
  • Create and coordinate engaging content: Produce and oversee the creation of timely, high-quality content for various internal and external channels, including news pieces, websites, and the University’s research news site, Pursuit. 
  • Provide strategic advice: Offer communications guidance to senior leaders, particularly on internal communications and issues management. 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships: Coordinate and foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support key communication initiatives. 

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced communications professional with a proven track record in managing and delivering strategic communication projects within a large, complex organisation, possessing excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to create and coordinate compelling content across various platforms.

You may also:

  • Have experience in relevant media and communications field. 
  • Demonstrate efficient communication skills.
  • Excel in complex project decision-making, requiring high levels of expertise and judgement.
  • Have a proven agile and nimble approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple project priorities.
