About the Role
Join our dynamic team as the Admissions and Selection Team Leader within the ABP/FEIT Divisional Group's Future Students team! You'll be a pivotal contributor to recruitment and admissions strategies, ensuring top-notch service for prospective students, managing admissions processes, and collaborating closely with academic staff. Your leadership will be crucial in converting quality applicants into enrolled students, and meeting our targets while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Admissions and Selection Manager and Associate Director, Future Students to develop and monitor Divisional Student Acquisition plans to meet KPIs. 
  • Effectively motivate, coach and supervise staff to achieve goals. Provide clear performance expectations, regular feedback and document performance outcomes, ensuring poor performance is addressed and high performance nurtured and rewarded.  
  • Liaising with academic staff to facilitate a fair and transparent applicant selection process, ensuring decisions are made promptly and with integrity. 
  • Providing policy and procedural advice on selection matters to Division leadership and Divisional Group staff as required. 
  • Efficiently executing application selection processes to maximise conversion of top-quality applicants to admitted students, prioritizing early identification of applications from key cohorts.

Who we are looking for
We're searching for candidates who exhibit a demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service to both students and internal stakeholders along with a problem-solving mindset and agility for continuous improvement. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders. Experience in aligning organisational strategies and managing resource demands within complex environments is highly valued. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of direct staff management with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and supervise staff.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in admissions within a tertiary education context.  
  • High-level interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships and influence optimal outcomes for the University, Faculties and students.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
