Your next career opportunity

As the Director, Student and Academic Services, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, student-centred academic and administrative services across the Faculty of Science. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent and integrated approach to the student lifecycle, academic programs, and service excellence.

You will work closely with academic leaders and professional staff across the Faculty and broader University to align operational activities with strategic goals, and champion continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Values-driven Leadership: As a key member of the Faculty executive leadership team, model our values of Curiosity, Excellence, Innovation and Integrity.
  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the planning and delivery of academic services, curriculum operations, and student administration to support excellence in teaching and learning. Support the implementation of the Faculty’s Education Strategy.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Build and sustain strong partnerships with faculty leadership, academic staff, Chancellery, and other portfolios to enable strategic and operational success.
  • Student Experience: Lead initiatives that enhance the whole student journey, focusing on engagement, success, and satisfaction.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure effective academic governance, regulatory compliance, and policy implementation across teaching and learning operations.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and lead a high-performing professional staff team, promoting a culture of excellence, respect, inclusion, and continuous development.

You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a passion for education and service excellence. You thrive in complex environments and are committed to empowering teams and enhancing student and academic outcomes.

You should have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and substantial experience in student services, academic administration, or a related field.
  • Proven success leading service delivery functions in large, complex organisations within the tertiary education sector.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership.
  • Experience implementing continuous service improvement, regulatory changes and strategy.
  • Deep understanding of academic policies, regulatory frameworks, and governance processes in a university setting.
