About the Role

The Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) provides high-quality education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years, guided by the National Quality Framework and curriculum standards. This role involves creating inclusive and meaningful learning experiences, maintaining professional documentation, and fostering respectful relationships with children, families, and the community. Working collaboratively with the team, the educator contributes to continuous improvement in the centre’s operations and reports to the Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Director.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To adhere to the requirements of the National Quality Standards, the Education & Care National Law and the Education & Care Services National Regulations.
  • To work as an enthusiastic team member to provide a responsive environment that supports children’s wellbeing, relationships and learning through intentional teaching, partnerships, and critical reflection. 
  • To assist in the implementation of high-quality children’s programs in line with legislative requirements and contemporary theories and approaches to early childhood education, responding to individual strengths and interests of children, families, and staff. 
  • To supervise children’s activities to always ensure the safety of each child. 


Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, excels in building meaningful relationships, and brings patience and flexibility. They are highly organised and adaptable, ensuring effective collaboration and task management.

You will also have:

  • The appointee will hold an ACECQA-approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), and a Level 2 First Aid Certificate with anaphylaxis and asthma components.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • The incumbent will possess knowledge of Federal and State legislation, including the National Quality Standards, Education & Care National Law, National and Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks, Child Safe Standards, Food Act 1984, and Privacy Act 1988. 
  • Information Technology skills, English language oral & written communication skills are also an expectation.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
