About the Role

The Chief People Officer Portfolio plays a critical role in developing the road map and operational plans that align to the People strategy and we are seeking a Strategic Portfolio Manager to partner and support our team to deliver on these goals.

This exciting role will see you lead the development of the HR (people) roadmap then project manage the delivery of agreed initiatives. More broadly you will establish and lead the suite of core operational and management activities across the portfolio and deliver a consistent and structured approach to planning and portfolio management. You'll be the driving force behind a more transparent and effective HR experience, fostering collaboration with the People Leadership team and the University leaders on key initiatives.

In this influential role, you'll be a key touch point and face of the Portfolio. You will engage with various internal and external stakeholders and liaise across the full breadth of the University to shepherd the work of the HR (People) team. You will bring a proactive process improvement mindset to ensure the portfolio is best set up to effectively deliver its goals. This vibrant work environment fosters creativity and offers you a central role in shaping the future trajectory of the University's HR function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and lead core operational functions within the CPO Portfolio
  • Develop and manage the HR (people) roadmap for the people team ensuring that activities align with the university’s priorities
  • Support strategic project implementation alongside key stakeholders
  • Monitor strategic initiatives' performance, identify trends and risks, and recommend mitigations while ensuring alignment with institutional priorities
  • Partner with Strategic Communications to develop engaging materials for internal and external stakeholder

Who we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you'll possess a blend of strategic thinking, project execution expertise, and exceptional communication skills. You'll have a proven track record of leading complex initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and fostering collaboration across teams. You'll be a results-oriented leader with strong judgment and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

You will also have:

  • Strong track record of bridging the gap between strategy and execution by translating strategic goals into actionable project plans
  • Skilled in delivering impactful programs and services, demonstrably achieving successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating strategic objectives into actionable, well-defined project plans
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects involving multiple internal stakeholders, ensuring on-time completion

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
