About the Role
The Enterprise Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing a broad portfolio of applications and platforms across the organisation, ensuring they are developed, enhanced, and secured in line with business priorities. The role involves engaging with stakeholders, managing team demand, prioritising backlogs, and working with vendors, while ensuring service delivery, including development, support, and maintenance. Key areas include managing security, data integrity, service availability, and performance. The Manager also plays a crucial role in evolving team practices by identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing application demand by engaging stakeholders, prioritising backlogs, and ensuring alignment with roadmaps, while overseeing development, maintenance, and incident resolution
  • Ensuring applications remain secure, current, and compliant by implementing effective patch management, upgrades, and collaboration with the Cybersecurity team
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, manage vendor relationships, and maintain development standards, driving continuous improvement in demand management and application support practices
  • Leading and motivating the team, set clear performance expectations, and manage workforce planning to achieve operational goals within budget and success outcomes

Who we are looking for
You will be an experienced leader with a proven track record in driving process improvements, building strong relationships, and delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment. You will have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous delivery.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline(s) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • 5+ years experience in leading application development and support teams
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ITIL practices

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

Enterprise Technology is responsible for all aspects of enterprise & IT foundational technology including both change (project) and run (operational) aspects. 

The Enterprise Services domain team, within Enterprise Technology, plans and delivers a diverse range of projects including IT enablement for new buildings on campus and other facilities / smart campus projects; IT infrastructure projects; integration / identity management / security projects; and application / digital projects in the enterprise services domain (finance, HR, procurement, service management, space management and other back-office Enterprise capabilities).
