About the Role
The Associate Director, Policy, Change & Communications is responsible for leading a strategic team that drives consistent communication and timely, reliable and clear instructional guidance to University stakeholders, ensuring they understand and meet their workforce-related obligations to the University community.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Employment Compliance, the Associate Director oversees a team focused on effective change and communications delivery, and operational custodianship of the University HR Policy and Work Instruction Framework. The role ensures quality and timeliness of deliverables that set University stakeholders up for success in meeting their obligations as employees and leaders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Establish the team as an enabler of employment compliance and foster key relationships to identify training needs.
- Oversee development and implementation of the HR Change Management Framework and training programs.
- Provide strategic oversight of the HR Policy and Work Instruction Framework development and implementation.
- Represent the Employment Compliance Directorate in working groups and build sector relationships.
Who we are looking for
You demonstrate strong leadership experience, with the ability to lead a team towards positive improvements and an embedded compliance culture. Excellent communication, influening and stakeholder engagement skills are essential in building effective relationships across the University.
You will also have:
- Post-graduate qualification/s in a relevant discipline, and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Extensive knowledge and experience communicating and implementing complex compliance advice and instruction, ensuring it is accessible to a diverse audience. This experience may have been gained implementing changes associated with legislative or policy related obligations.
- Excellent communication skills to prepare high-quality materials for diverse audiences.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
